I spent alot of time looking for a dentist reasonablyl near where I live. Sulphur Springs Dental was the only clinic I felt comfortable with. I have had one appointment and it was long but very informative. The staff and my hygenist were wonderful. Very friendly office. The cost was reasonable. They are out of network for all insurance so I don't know if they will be much more expensive. At this time I believe I have found a dental clinic I can trust. I liked Dr Mulvey and he gave me understandable explanations of my dental needs. I would highly recommend Dr. Mulvey. For treatments like root canals, extractions and wisdom tooth removal, after a few days you should feel fine and can resume your normal activities. If you have heavy bleeding, severe pain, continued swelling for 2-3 days, or a reaction to the medication, call our office immediately.
Adults over 35 lose more teeth to gum diseases (periodontal disease) than from cavities. Three out of four adults are affected at some time in their life. The best way to prevent cavities and periodontal disease is by good tooth brushing and flossing techniques, performed daily.
Periodontal disease and decay are both caused by bacterial plaque. Plaque is a colorless film, which sticks to your teeth at the gumline. Plaque constantly forms on your teeth. By thorough daily brushing and flossing you can remove these germs and help prevent periodontal disease. Learn more on our Oral Hygiene page.
After your appointment, follow all instructions provided by your dentist and avoid eating until any numbness has completely worn off. Stick to soft foods for the first several hours, avoid extremely hot beverages, and be gentle around the treated area. If you experience any intense pain or bleeding please call our office.
Unless directed otherwise by your dentist, yes you should go about your normal dental routine. Maintaining oral hygiene is important. Just avoid brushing or flossing directly on the treated area for the first 24 hours, especially if you’ve had a surgical procedure or deep filling.
Mild swelling or tenderness can occur depending on the procedure. Unless directed otherwise by our dental team, applying a cold compress in 15-minute intervals during the first 24 hours can help reduce swelling.
Take over-the-counter or prescribed medications as directed by your dentist. Do not exceed recommended dosages, and avoid aspirin immediately after surgical procedures as it can increase bleeding.
Contact your dentist if you experience severe pain, excessive bleeding, fever, trouble swallowing, or symptoms that worsen after 48–72 hours. Call our office if you experience any of these symptoms.
